Former DJ Accused of Groping Taylor Swift Mailed Her the Dollar She Won in Court

David Mueller, the former DJ accused of groping Taylor Swift, just mailed her the $1 she won after going to trial.

The 27-year-old “Look What You Made Me Do” singer won her court case back in August. David just sent her a Sacajawea $1 coin at the end of November, according to the AP.

David originally sued Taylor, claiming she falsely accused him of groping her at a meet-and-greet back in 2013. She then counter-sued – for $1 – hoping to serve as an example to other women publicly decrying sexual harassment.

“I figured that if he would be brazen enough to assault me under these risky circumstances and high stakes, imagine what he might do to a vulnerable, young artist if given the chance,” Taylor told Time.

Taylor Swift Says Kesha Helped Her During Her Sexual Assault Trial

Taylor Swift is opening up about how Kesha helped talk her through her “demoralizing” sexual assault case.

The 27-year-old Reputation songstress was sued by a radio DJ earlier this year after she alleged she was groped by him during a photo opp. Taylor ended up winning and asked for a symbolic one dollar from her abuser.

During her court proceedings, Taylor turned to the 30-year-old “Praying” singer, who is currently embroiled in her own legal battle against her former producer Dr. Luke, whom she claims sexually assaulted and emotionally abused her.

“People have been largely very supportive of my story since the trial began in August,” Taylor told Time in her Person of the Year cover story, “but before that, I spent two years reading headlines referring to it as ‘The Taylor Swift Butt Grab Case’ with internet trolls making a joke about what happened to me. The details were all skewed, as they often are. … I spoke to Kesha on the phone and it really helped to talk to someone who had been through the demoralizing court process.”

Sam Smith Asked If He's Team Taylor Swift or Team Kim Kardashian

Sam Smith played “Plead the Fifth” on Watch What Happens Live! on Monday (December 5), and was asked about Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift‘s feud, which may have been reignited.

Taylor Swift, I don’t know her too well. It’s been made out that we know each other, but I don’t know her too well. We’ve only met five times briefly.”

When Andy said he went to Taylor‘s birthday party, he replied. “Yeah, but, I think a lot of people went. I got asked to go and it was great, but I didn’t get to chat one-on-one with her.”

Sam then said he knows Kim better: “I know Kim more than I know Taylor…so, yea.”

“So you’re kind of Team Kim in this?” Andy said, to which Sam responded, “Well, there’s no teams is there, really?”

“I’d love to know all the details [of the feud]!” Sam said!

Taylor Swift Gives Advice to Those Facing Sexual Misconduct

Taylor Swift was profiled by Time as one of the “silence breakers” for the Person of the Year cover story as someone who came forward against sexual harassment.

If you don’t know, the 27-year-old entertainer was sued by a radio DJ earlier this year after she alleged she was groped by him during a photo opp. Taylor ended up winning and asked for a symbolic one dollar from her abuser.

“When I testified, I had already been in court all week and had to watch this man’s attorney bully, badger and harass my team including my mother over inane details and ridiculous minutiae, accusing them, and me, of lying. My mom was so upset after her cross-examination, she was physically too ill to come to court the day I was on the stand. I was angry,” Taylor said. “In that moment, I decided to forego any courtroom formalities and just answer the questions the way it happened. This man hadn’t considered any formalities when he assaulted me, and his lawyer didn’t hold back on my mom—why should I be polite? I’m told it was the most amount of times the word ‘ass’ has ever been said in Colorado Federal Court.”

Taylor then gave advice to people who may be in a similar situation as she was. “My advice is that you not blame yourself and do not accept the blame others will try to place on you. You should not be blamed for waiting 15 minutes or 15 days or 15 years to report sexual assault or harassment, or for the outcome of what happens to a person after he or she makes the choice to sexually harass or assault you,” Taylor said.

In addition, Taylor revealed she never did receive that dollar from her abuser.

“When the jury found in my favor, the man who sexually assaulted me was court-ordered to give me a symbolic $1. To this day he has not paid me that dollar, and I think that act of defiance is symbolic in itself,” she said.

Time's Person of the Year 2017 Are 'Silence Breakers' Like Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, Taylor Swift & More

Time has named the #MeToo movement, or “the silence breakers,” as their Person of the Year for 2017. The #MeToo movement is a social media movement that shows just how many people have been the victim of sexual misconduct.

The magazine writes, “These silence breakers have started a revolution of refusal, gathering strength by the day, and in the past two months alone, their collective anger has spurred immediate and shocking results: nearly every day, CEOs have been fired, moguls toppled, icons disgraced. In some cases, criminal charges have been brought.”

Many are quoted in the article, including Ashley Judd, who spoke out about Harvey Weinstein, and Taylor Swift, who came forward about a DJ who groped her during a photo opp.

“I figured that if he would be brazen enough to assault me under these risky circumstances,” Taylor told the magazine, “imagine what he might do to a vulnerable, young artist if given the chance.”

“I started talking about Harvey the minute that it happened,” Ashley said. “Literally, I exited that hotel room at the Peninsula Hotel in 1997 and came straight downstairs to the lobby, where my dad was waiting for me, because he happened to be in Los Angeles from Kentucky, visiting me on the set. And he could tell by my face—to use his words—that something devastating had happened to me. I told him. I told everyone.”
